Federal ministers’ offices receive ‘suspicious packages,’ alert police

OTTAWA — Suspicious packages were delivered to the Quebec constituency offices of at least two federal ministers.

Spokespeople for federal Infrastructure Minister Denis Lebel and Maxime Bernier, minister of state for small business, confirmed their local offices contacted police after the packages were received.

There are unconfirmed reports of two other federal ministers from Quebec, Public Safety Minister Stephen Blaney and International Development Minister Christian Paradis, receiving similarly suspicious packages.

Since the three are MPs from the wrong party (the Conservative party), nobody will care about this at all. Relegated to the back pages of newspapers, to be sure.
