Algerian born Irish citizen accused of terrorism may be sent to max security prison

Authorities in the United States have revealed to the High Court the number of Islamic terrorists imprisoned in America, 10 per cent of whom are in a maximum security prison where an Irish citizen may be transferred should extradition proceedings against him succeed.

Ali Charaf Damache (50), an Algerian-born Irish citizen who has been living here for a decade, is wanted in the United States to face charges relating to the conspiracy to provide material support for terrorists and attempted identity theft to facilitate an act of international terrorism.
