Canadian forces pull out of town under threat from Boko Haram

Members of a Canadian Special Operations regiment have been ordered to leave Diffa, a town in Niger that has come under threat from Islamist extremist group Boko Haram.

The soldiers were moved after an evaluation of the security situation in Diffa. The training will continue, however slightly fewer people are being trained this year because many of the Nigerien forces are on the front lines fighting Boko Haram running away from Boko Haram.
