Colonel Muammar Gaddafi warned that the Mediterranean would become ‘a sea of chaos’ in a chilling prophecy during his last interview before his downfall as Libya’s leader.

The interview resurfaces as ISIS, who have taken hold of large parts of the country in recent months, threatened to flood Europe with half-a-million migrants and hide militants among them.

At the time of the interview in March 2011, the Caliphate did not exist and the Islamic State had not yet made frightening inroads into Libya.

But the Arab Spring uprising that year sparked a civil war in Libya and opposition forces – backed by NATO – deposed Gaddafi in violent coup just five months after his ominous prediction…
