Southdale Project Community centre to be living expression of Islam

A giant new community centre planned in London’s southwest is being billed as the next step in the evolution of the city’s growing Muslim community.

“It’s not about telling people what we believe, it’s about showing people what we believe”…

…“We’ve been here (in London) for so long and people don’t understand us still,” Loubani said. “We are not ‘the other’ in London. This is not a pit stop. This is home.”

The London Mosque is always open to the public, but it can be an intimidating place for people, Loubani said, and those behind the Southdale Project hope to open the door more on the community…
