Muslim Bomb-maker inspired by al-Qaeda loses appeal against 20-year prison sentence

A Birmingham bomb-maker inspired by al-Qaeda has lost his appeal against a 20-year prison sentence.

Moinul Abedin, 40, of Sparkhill, was jailed after stockpiling huge quantities of home-made explosives and detonators.

But today he complained that the prison term violated his human rights.

High Court judges disagreed, and ruled that he must serve every day of the sentence behind bars.

Abedin was caged at Birmingham Crown Court in 2002 after he was convicted of doing an act intended to cause an explosion.
