Driving in China: Is this a good idea?

Drivers in Changsha, capital of southern China’s Hunan Province, have complained about new 3D zebra crossings, saying they cause them to panic and brake sharply because they look like logs or cement bars laid on the road.

That would bother me too.

Not awfully well thought out, although I think once I got the concept I would be less bothered than I am by the rainbow crosswalks in Vancouver’s West End.

Rainbow crosswalks? That must be (somewhat) new. I haven’t been there for years.

Its been, oh, several years now. Apparently, the high ratio of homosexuals in the area is something to celebrate. :rolleyes

Fortunately, we’ve been spared that in my suburb of Victoria.

Oh, and blocking off that street to traffic (and much needed parking) and putting in a couple of picnic tables was a great idea. The hobos use them like bunk beds. :rolleyes

Drivers in China take zero notice of normal zebra crossings, so you can understand the rationale.

      I see!

try ’em with mayor” happy planets” rainbow crosswalks , the sheer stupidy of it all might stun them into slowing down.

        • Frau Katze

They’re bizarre, I had no idea about this development.

well they tried “I Brake for Fags”bumper stickers but there were too many complaints
