Iran to host Holocaust Cartoon contest in response to #CharlieHebdo Mohammed caricatures

TEHRAN — Iran’s House of Cartoon and the Sarcheshmeh Cultural Complex plan to hold another international contest on the theme of Holocaust denial in the near future.

The 2nd International Holocaust Cartoons Contest has been organized in protest against French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo’s recent publication of the cartoons insulting Prophet Muhammad (S), the secretary of the contest, Masud Shojaei-Tabatabaii, said in a press conference on Saturday.

Shojaei-Tabatabaii, who is also the director of Iran’s House of Cartoon, added that world cartoonists are asked to submit their works before the first day of April.

The first place winners will receive a cash prize of $12,000, the second place will have $8000 and the third $5000.

Yes, because drawing a picture of an imaginary “prophet” is morally equivalent to mocking the murder of 6 million people.

    • In Islam it is!

      • moraywatson

Sorry but you are incorrect. In islam mocking the prophette is not morally EQUIVALENT to mocking the Holocaust; mocking the prophet is worse

BlazingCatFur, and when will this site run Prophet Cartoons? I have some hilarious ones collected over the years. Speaking of which, if you want to upset some muslims, simply mail them prophet cartoons anonymously. It’s cheap and fun – as much fun as LIBERALLY relocating 10 lbs. of sliced bacon to the “halal” section at SOBEY’S or LOBLAWS.

    • Frau Katze

It’s that unique Muslim logic. Islam is absolutely EVERYTHING to these loons, the “alpha and omega”: Islam über Alles.

Good point. And betcha not one Canadian media outlet will cover the Holocaust cartoon contest. One cannot offend the Iranians.

Note in passing that Prime Minister-designate Justin Trudeau’s brother, Alexandre Trudeau, has had dealings with the Iranian government. The Iranian government helped to fund his pro-Iranian documentary as a three-part series on CBC News. So in this sense, our media cartel will protect the Iranians by not reporting on this contest.

Kerry’s daughter is married to an Iranian-American who still has family in the old country.

Lurch is related to barbarians? Somehow, this does not surprise.

The answer to free speech is more free speech. Let them draw all the Holocaust cartoons they want.

      • Keith

I agree let them draw their cartoons, no Christian or Jew will be bombing the Muslim countries embassies, or killing muslims in the street over them. We all know the truth, it is only muslims who are so insecure in their “religion” that they need to kill others to prove that it is the one and only “true” or should I say “turd” religion.

        • Hoekom Jy My Haat

Just want to say good on you to the both of you. They only expose their ignorance by engaging in such acts. Tit for tat only makes them look like a twat. Like you said, I bet you don’t see a bunch of armed Jews attacking in response. That is the difference between civilized men and savages. Cheers.

I look forward to an “explosion” of unique Muslim creativity! (cough, cough)

    • Heh;)

  • truthdareisay

Vile.. but I’ve seen worse cartoons coming out of Gazan and Egyptian newspapers regarding the Holocaust.

    • Oh fer sure, these were tame in comparison to the Daily fare.

  • Moslems have no respect for non-Moslems, yet whine about being disrespected as if they were the model of respect.

    • tom_billesley

They see no equivalence or need to reciprocate. After all, they are the best of people, and never tire of telling us so.

  • tom_billesley

Submitting a cartoon of Grand Mufti Haj Amin al-Husseini chatting with Heinrich Himmler about the final solution will be met with a cutting display of indignation.

  • Go for it you fools.

So this is where all the Muslim creativity gets used up.

No wonder the Muslim world is such a shit hole.

    • Justin St.Denis

It is FAR, FAR worse than you even suspect.

  • moraywatson

    Cartoon Diplomacy. This could work!

  • eMan14

I guess Turkey will be front and center.

Iran’s Fountain of Blood to commemorate the martyrs to kill infidels and others

It was created after the Iran Iraq war to celebrate the mass murder of 1 million children that Iran sent unarmed into battle against the Iraqis in human wave attacks.

Not that Iran is a free country.

    groundhog day, so early?

  • Hoekom Jy My Haat

As distasteful and disguesting as it is, I have no problem with them doing it. If they want to make fools of themselves in response to Charlie Hebdo, so let them. I’ll bet you dollars to doughnuts you don’t see a bunch of armed Jews attacking in response. That’s the difference between civilized men and savages.

  • buest

Let them do it! There will be no murders due to these cartoons. This will prove that this type of stupidity is exclusive to Islam.

  • knowitall

When is the annual “draw MoHAMed” day again ?

  • Crash

I have no problem at all with them conducting this competition. I’m happy for them to put their hatred on display for all to see. I just don’t understand their rationale. A group of French atheists mock Mohamed so they attack Jews in protest. To any sane person surely the appropriate response would be to mock atheists or the French.

Surely it couldn’t be that they are just using Charlie Hebdo as an excuse to trot out the Jew hatred that is core to their religious beliefs.

What sad and pathetic lives these people lead. To be so insecure and to live in constant denial about the world around you must be truly awful. No wonder they are so unstable.

    • Clinton Lewis

Here, Here. What the Jews should do is embrace this and ask the Iranians to allow Jewish cartoonists to enter the competition, then propose that the UN hold a judging contest of the winning drawings. If the Jews could bear to laugh at themselves a little, then these morons will be driven up the wall. We should tell the Iranians “Now don’t you guys worry, nobody will kill a single muslim over these cartoons, and do not be afraid of any backlash against muslims, You can chalk that benefit up to the fortunate fact that “We are not Muslims like you”, or else you’d be dead. LOL Why aint you laughing Mohammedites? It’s the truth.
