Because of the death of my good friend, Pastor Blackmore, was not in the mood to attend being with lots of wonderful people. Needed solace.. but really looks to me like Indigo was not a really good place to be. When Mark Steyn comes to town, he needs a huge auditorium where most, if not all people, can be seated comfortably.
It was a great turnout and great event.
Oh I have no doubt about that!
Met Eye on a Crazy Planet and a couple others at the Pilot and the talk went on over a couple beers for over an hour. My lady friend said she’d give me the elbow if I booed Mrs. Swartz, so the jeers were the best I could do. I may have lost her heart as she said he talks like me only better and she could listen to him all night:) Anyone know a linguistics coach that could teach me that accent?
I really got to come out to a place that photos are taken… lol
CICS knows who I am
The best part was the display of our “elites'” ignorance – Heather Reisman, who interviewed Steyn knew nothing about the mosqueteria. When she read that chapter of the book, she had to verify it by searching for the issue online. She also had no idea about the new sexual consent part of Wynne’s elementary school sex curriculum. She didn’t believe it, which earned her jeers from the audience (Heather didn’t take them lightly).
She is not concerned with the “Little people”
Heather Reisman should try reading a few good blogs on-line to add to her book collection.. She then would become enlightened-hopefully.
There was a conspiracy afoot. I’m claiming that she took the “conversation with” aspect to try and avoid that. In 2007 she introduced him and was roundly booed at the first socialist thing she said. She was so shocked then that she took this route so she wouldn’t ever be talking alone. The best was when she took a few minutes to ask a convoluted question and he answered her precisely with about ten words.
Now imagine a country where the Heather Reismans of the world aren’t allowed to vote. You can do it if you try.
Heather was just playing Mark’s dullard leftist foil.
Someone should have asked her if she was also unaware who is the the sitting MPP for Mosqueteria-Little Kabul-Don Valley.
Fantastic event. Mark Steyn was brilliant, as expected.
A show with everything but the car chases!
I missed all the fun again. Work kills my social life at times. Glad there was a good turn out.
Me too. 🙁 I was there at the last one, but now I’m thousands of miles away.
So who’s going to be a dear and post the video for the rest of us?
Yeah, I couldn’t make it either and wanted to be there. However, a friend was in attendance who purchased a copy of Steyn’s book for me. 🙂 Re: the comment above by Blogwrath on the interviewer’s ignorance, she is rather busy but could’ve better prepared herself for such an event.
To the rafters.
Key thing is that there are people who get Mark.
So, did you guys score seats with Conrad and Babs?
