Atlas Shrugs Still Down

A week ago today my website Atlas Shrugs was hit with a massive DDoS. I wanted to update you on what’s been happening. The affects of the attack suffered last Thursday were crippling. The fall-out is still ongoing.

We tried to go back online yesterday but it failed. My web developer was out of his depth and I have brought in two new companies that specialize in this kind of situation.

In the meantime, I have set up a temporary blog at Typepad, AtlasShrugs.com and will write and publish from there. It’s temporary but stable. As you can see from this morning’s newsletter the links work.

This attack demonstrates the war on truth, the war on freedom. The site is critical in covering what is really happening in the world. There are well-funded forces working to silence the voices of truth and freedom.

The site was targeted because of its message and its unprecedented growth.

In the wake of the roiling jihad across the world, people are looking for answers. Now. Which is why what Atlas does is so very critical in the information battle-space. And the relentless forces of evil mean to see that good folks don’t have access to it. We will not let that happen.

Please consider a contribution to help get Atlas back online, here. Or you can mail your donation to:

For those of you who have contributed, G-d bless you and thank you.

I am on it. I will not rest. Bear with me and give me a few more days.

If I was her I’d start looking to see where the attacks are coming from, that level of attack implies something more than a typical hacker in their moms basement. Maybe it’s the whitehouse servers doing the attack?

The administration had nothing to do with this! It was 2 rogue agents! We found out when we saw it on CNN!

This is an issue I have been worried about — that pro-freedom web sites might be single out by the left-fascists, and attacked outright using malicious worms, etc. Just worried about it. As Islamist, North Korean and plain-leftist Hitler-types become better and better at computer technology, this might become nasty.

  • Pamela all the best to you.

Looking forward to seeing you back online.

You must know you are having an effect. Otherwise they would not attack you.

Where are the hackers for freedom?

You made him blink baby….keep that pedal to the metal. Many of us in Canada love you and are looking forward to the lawsuit in Edmonton.

Even with all the problems, it must be wonderful to make fighting for a cause you believe in the central point of your life, and to know that you are making a difference in the world every single day.

    And…
When you’re taking flak it means you’re over the target.

Robert Spencer at Jihad Watch recently had a cyber attack and was eventually able to get his site back on line in just over 24 hours. I suggest both Robert & Pam combine their web sites that way they can reduce overhead costs and develop a more secure web site from on line attacks.
