ISIS threatens to kill 2 Japanese hostages in 3 days unless ransom paid

The Islamic State terrorist group (IS, formerly ISIS) said in a video it will execute two Japanese nationals unless a $200-million ransom is paid within 72 hours.

The video features two Asian men wearing orange fatigues standing on their knees and a masked man in black holding a knife, reading the demand. The hostages are Kenji Goto Jogo and Haruna Yukawa, according to the video.

This is a bizarre story involving one of the hostages – The Tragedy of Islamic State’s Japanese Hostage

From the moment Islamic State sympathizers announced that they had taken Haruna Yukawa hostage in Syria, it was clear something strange going on. ISIS accused Yukawa of being a mercenary and a spy—and used his own words and photographs against him.

Japanese magazine journalists and Internet users unraveled the man’s background. They discovered a tragic story of self-harm, loss and delusion … and hints as at how, and why, Yukawa wound up a captive of a murderous Islamist militia. From the moment Islamic State sympathizers announced that they had taken Haruna Yukawa hostage in Syria, it was clear something strange going on. How many ‘ISIS beheading infidels in orange clothes’ videos will this one make?
Because I’ve lost count at this point in history.

The imagery has become more than familiar.
So familiar that the it serves as fodder, yes, fodder, for a post-Charlie Hebdo T-Star cartoon.
(Published on the website on Tuesday night, and in print the following day)

There’s only one comment on their website, but it says it all…..

‘This is not good enough… you really, really should have published the
cover of the Charlie Hebdo issue!! This is pure cowardice on the part of
    the Star.’

Whose the other guy? I seem to recall reading about Yukawa earlier. I hope the govt doesn’t cave. Any of that old WW II spirit left at all?

Meanwhile, prime minister Shinzo Abe said: “Extremism and Islam are completely different things”.
And then we wonder how these savages are gaining ground over us.

  • If Abe pays the specific and enormous sum, he’s screwed. If he doesn’t pay it, these men die.

I wonder if Abe will cut his losses. It’s not like Japan can shell out millions of dollars each time someone is taken hostage. It would be better if Abe paid the money to mercenaries to rescue them.

How has ISIS been degraded again?

he sounds like another authour of his own demise like the idiot progressives killed in syria by the very people they defended.
