Hottest Year Claim: Miniscule Change in Imaginary Number

A few decades hence, it will seem as though 95% of today’s journalists were the recipients of lobotomies. Their ability to see beyond the press release in climate matters appears to be non-existent.

As I begin year six writing about climate change, my heart despairs. The central arguments haven’t changed much in half a decade. This year’s over-heated rhetoric, as activists ramp up for December’s Paris UN climate summit, faithfully echo 2009, when the Copenhagen summit was coming into view.

When you can pick and choose which data sets to use each year, and you can “adjust” past temperatures according to whatever convenient assumptions you choose this year, it’s quite easy to keep making this claim year after year.

135 years of record keeping is meaningless when Earth’s history is 4.5 billion years. And even that 135 years is an exaggeration because the data we have for the earliest years is sparse by comparison to the most recent years, which will be sparse in comparison to 100 years from now.

Imagine trying to measure the temperature at ground level, at every depth of ocean and glacier, and at every height of altitude for all points on earth, hundreds of times each day, and then integrate over time for an entire year, and then enough years to get a reasonably sized data set (i.e. millennia+).

The intellectual arrogance of the climate scientists and their sycophantic lemmings is astounding.

But I’m just a goat. What do I know?

Goats are smarter than leftist “climate change activists”and better looking.

Indeed. They also need to be careful around amorous Muzzies… 😉

    • It is purely political.

More importantly – NO RAW DATA remains, only “adjusted” data. They deleted all the raw data (no joke). So 135 yrs of record keeping is even more BS when they are saving only their modified numbers.

Just another way to TAX and spread the wealth.

There where vine yards in London England in the middle ages, so it must have bin warmer then.

      And Greenland was green.

      • Bataviawillem

Yes, green enough to farm cattle.

Hopefully the Paris UN climate summit will coincide with a Muslim jihad campaign in Paris, resulting in a clash between these two terrorist groups that leaves the climate cultists all dead. For that, I am willing to give them Paris.

Trying to resuscitate the worlds biggest failed scam is Job 1 for lefty journos.
They think if they can pull that one off, the sky is the limit for their services.

Funny, I don’t remember using much in the way of air conditioning last summer. Double checked my electric bills, and yep pretty much a cooler than average summer here in Southern Ontario.
