Belgium sends extra troops to guard Jewish quarter of Antwerp

Soldiers have fanned out to guard possible terror targets across Belgium, including some buildings in the Jewish quarter of the port city of Antwerp.

It is the first time in 30 years that authorities have used troops to reinforce police in Belgium’s cities, a day after anti-terror raids netted dozens of suspects across western Europe.

Belgium has increased its terror warning to level three, the second highest, following the anti-terror raids on Thursday which left two suspects dead.

I did bring this up on a some what left sites should Canada call up the troops to protect our citizens and what I was told no we need less police and not a police state.

I tend to agree, a police state is what you would get if you brought up more soldiers and police, It would be better not to have allowed the problem in the first place. Now that we have the problem if you wanted to bring up police and military to remove the islamist infestation then I can agree, however when the islamist are gone then the extra security goes too.

Allow the citizens to arm themselves. Police can’t be everywhere or even close by. That’s why I have guns in my house.

When a crime occurs, police are only minutes away. Average speed of a pistol round 1100fps, easy decision for me.
