Since the mid-1920s, the Presidential Seal has featured the sun, symbolizing the Republic of Turkey, as well as 16 five-pointed stars.

The stars were attributed in the official narrative of Turkey to “the 16 Great Turkish Empires” in 1969. Previously, it was accepted that they were symbols for the 16 Turkish beyliks, the principalities that emerged in Anatolia between the 13th-15th centuries, after the fall of the Seljuks…

Is this a photo from the forthcoming season of Game of Thrones?

Nope, it’s for real, I promise!

So given the list of “Turkish” empires he’s claiming decent from, he’s saying the Turks don’t own Turkey because they started in Mongolia as the Huns and immigrated. That would mean that they are the invaders and the Kurds are the rightful owners of modern Turkey.

Nope. It’s Greeks and Armenians, plus a few smaller groups.

This guy has gone full Mr. Dressup. The next step will be showing up in more and more bizarre costumes like the Saudis.

I am glad they are finally coming out of the closet and showing their pride in who and what they are. This way it becomes much easier for non muslims to understand what is going on and how incorrect it is for muslims of any sect to be living in our neighborhoods.

Erdogan’s imperial show is more bark than bite. The Turkish military hasn’t dared intervene in Syria.

Some of those Turks look a bit Frankish.

    Cheers

Turks look like Europeans. Although the original Turks came from the east and people speaking Turk-related languages in places like Kazakhstan look Far East Asian, the Turks don’t.

Clearly the language was imposed by a small set of rulers on the existing population.

You don’t need huge force to change a language. Look at how the English got all the Celts speaking English.

Throughout hundreds of years, the Turks had a harvest of Christian children, Greeks, Belgarians, Serbs. They were taken from their parents and trained as Janissaries, the most fanatical Muslim swat teams, loyal only to the Sultan. They were used to beat down any sign of restiveness from the oppressed peoples from whose ranks they had been taken
Sadly, most Turks are Islamized Greeks.
