Satirical religious cartoons should be illegal, says Asshole Ottawa imam #CharlieHebdo

An Ottawa imam has denounced the terrorist attack on a Paris weekly newspaper that killed 12 people, but he says satirical cartoons of religious leaders should be illegal.

Imtiaz Ahmed, an imam with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, said it should be against the law to publish cartoons that depict religious figures in a derogatory way.

“Of course we defend freedom of speech, but it has to be balanced. There has to be a limit. There has to be a code of conduct,” Ahmed said.

“We believe that any kind of vulgar expression about any sacred person of any religion does not constitute the freedom of speech in any way at all.”

Listen up Mr. Government – Stop importing these asshole Muslim totalitarians.

What kills me is that this guy is an Ahmadi. Aren’t they supposed to be the Totalitarian Lite Islam?

There is no good brand of totalitarian islam. The ahmadiyya muslims are just as much a threat to western style freedoms as the other brands.

…someone would inevitably get killed or injured in all the sunni-shia-ahmahdee enfilading crossfire…

  • mobuyus

This dumb fuck doesn’t get it.What about the right of freedom from religion.muslims must really learn to think for themselves. If one is incapable of thinking for oneself and needs an imam to tell them how to think they should not be allowed in a free country. You are not allowed to force people to respect your religion. Can you think for yourself?should be asked of all new comers, any hesitation in answering then good-bye.

    • Welfare Recepient

Exactly. “Illegal to insult” just means forced to respect. I have no respect for this man’s silly beliefs and I will make all the jokes about it that I want. Deal with it.

  • Barrington Minge

Case in point. Mooslims are unable to think for themselves. Strange that it is the only “religion” where this is the case….

“Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.” Voltaire

      • Barrington Minge

Very profound Raymondo, but also very true it would seem.

  • SDMatt

I really have no interest in hearing the definition of freedom of speech from someone who comes from a tradition for which freedom of speech is unknown.

  • A man who openly follows a blasphemous false prophet, a false messiah and an unholy book shouldn’t go looking for laws to proscribe such behaviour.

  • Xavier

Even if there should be limits to free speech, why should your ideology set those limits in my country?

    • DVult

That’s right, come here you respect our laws and customs not the other way around. Better yet, don’t come here in the first place and if you are already here leave as soon as possible.

      • Raymond Hietapakka

        Dialogue is the answer….

        • DVult

Humour noted but I am not interested in dialogue with these aholes.

          • e=mc2

thats good because you cant talk or reason with crazy, if i may quote the hangover, ‘if your lucky you lock it in a trunk and kill it’

    • What kills me is that this guy is an Ahmadi. Aren’t they supposed to be the Totalitarian Lite Islam?

      • Martin Luffa

anything connected with Mohammad is evil

Look at the Baha’i (messianic muslims) for example.. they have their designs for a New World Order.

  • Morticiaa

I wore my Mo ham mad cartoon t shirt all over this city in malls and to gyms and on buses and subways…. in memory of the dead cartoonists…my coat open to flaunt it openly…. A few recognized it…
I wish the media all over the western world would have one day to
Publish the cartoons in unity and solidarity to show the rights and freedoms of the free world that blasphemy or satire of religious figures
    Is acceptable…whether appropriate or inappropriate…
The young woman who did this in Seattle , is she still in protective hiding for trying to organize this on the Internet.?i love these cartoons

  • Raymond Hietapakka

iSlam should be illegal. I’d rather be across the street from the Satan’s Choice clubhouse again, than having a black mosque of death as a neighbour.

  • Edubeat

600+ comments with this article not one pro all con…methinks he should remove his winter boots from his mouth.

  • madsteve

there are plenty of countries where it is illegal, i would think it would easier to pick one and move to it instead of speaking out against free speech in a country where free speech is one of the core values, not only is he dangerous and crazy (believes in men in clouds) but very stupid to not realize what hes saying and where hes saying it doesnt match up

  • Barrington Minge

mohammed and arsehole..two words made for each other.

  • DVult

What about all the vulgarities and insults every single day by puslums about everybody else and every other religion? There is also the little matter about the constant threats and violence.

  • roccolore

    Islam should be illegal.

    • Aron

Who cares about that pesky Constitution, right?

      • roccolore

Since when do Muslims in Canada care about the Western laws? Many of them want Sharia.

        • Aron

They’re entitled to ‘want.’ You aren’t entitled to deny them their constitutional rights.

          Go to hell, bigot.

          • roccolore

You Muslim fascists are the bigots who sue people for criticising Islam. You go to hell and take your terrorist buddies with you!

          • Aron

I’m white and Jewish. How exactly does that make me black and Muslim? And when have I EVER said any of the things of which you are libelously accusing me?

        • Aron

Also, I’ve been reading your comments for a long time.

You want nothing so much as a White, Christian, Fascist ethno-state. You and the Sharia-followers should get along beautifully!

          • roccolore

You liberals are the fascists. You are anti-Jewish, anti-Christian, and pro-jihadist. You are the Sharia supporter who defended the monsters behind the Charlie Hebdo and kosher grocery attacks. You black Muslims are ungrateful.

      • This is a Canadian blog, eh?

        • Aron

I’m aware. Canada still maintains a Constitution that guarantees freedom of worship.

          • Tell me more about the Canadian Constitution.

          • Aron

Charter of Rights and Freedoms, 1982? That ring a bell?

          • That’s not a Constitution. Go on, you thought Canada was the 57th State, didn’t you? Oh, you Americans. So self-involved. If only you could be more enlightened. Like Canadians, for example.

You gotta open up your mind, Aron. And open up your heart.

          • Aron

Yet Ottawa claims it as part of Constitutional Law.

Also, WTF are you talking about?

          • I’m talking about a little boy who was just to arrogant to see the world from other people’s points of view. 🙁

You should be more like Canadians. We’re very tolerant and open minded. Have you tried listening to the CBC? Maybe reading Margaret Atwood novels?

            Anyway, you’re confusing this: http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/constitution_transcript.html

            With this: https://www.google.ca/search?q=commonwealth+constitutional+law&oq=commonwealth+constitutional+law&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l4.7188j0j8&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=0&ie=UTF-8#q=commonwealth+model+of+constitutionalism

Now I’m not your high school civics teacher (I hear the poor man shot himself), so that’ll have to do you.

          • Aron

And I heard your elementary school spelling teacher was driven to insanity. I don’t know why you decided to troll me, but I have no issue with you. Leave me alone. My understanding of Canadian Constitutional Law is correct.

          • No it isn’t, and you’re trolling us.

          • Aron

            Whatever you say.

          • Aron

Also, you are aware that Roccolore is also an American? From my home commonwealth of Massachusetts?

          • No offense to Roccolore, but I’m not aware of him/her at all.

          • Aron

He is the person to whom I was responding when you cut in. Maybe you should look before you leap? Just a thought.

          • I can see that, but s/he isn’t someone whose presence I have been aware of in the past.

  • Welfare Recepient

Get these people the hell out of our country. These creeps come here and have the nerve to tell us how WE should change and cater to them.

Free speech is more important and beyond your religion and loser prophet. You don’t like it in this country GET OUT.
