Creeping Sharia: NYT Removes Mention Of Islam, Koran From Hebdo Survivor’s Account

The Islam-apologist New York Times is under fire for removing a quote from an article about the Charlie Hebdo massacre.

Originally, the story ran like this:

“Sigolène Vinson, a freelancer who had decided to come in that morning to take part in the meeting, thought she would be killed when one of the men approached her. Instead, she told French news media, the man said, “I’m not going to kill you because you’re a woman, we don’t kill women, but you must convert to Islam, read the Quran and cover yourself,” she recalled.”

But as The Daily Caller pointed out this afternoon, the Times changed that passage to read like this:

“Sigolène Vinson, a freelance journalist who had come in that morning to take part in the meeting, said that when the shooting started, she thought she would be killed.

Ms. Vinson said in an interview that she dropped to the floor and crawled down the hall to hide behind a partition, but one of the gunmen spotted her and grabbed her by the arm, pointing his gun at her head. Instead of pulling the trigger, though, he told her she would not be killed because she was a woman.

“Don’t be afraid, calm down, I won’t kill you,” the gunman told her in a steady voice, with a calm look in his eyes, she recalled. “You are a woman. But think about what you’re doing. It’s not right.””

The Times Editorial Management was mostly exported wholesale from the Guardian and BBC two years ago. That they haven’t come out and called for a new Holocaust yet amazes me.

    Par for the course. Bastards.

For example, Evan Solomon has a pickle so far up his ass his hair is turning green and one must smell dill and garlic from several feet away from this pompous smart-ass.

Now the media can go back to stories about missing planes, fires on ferries, and Harper is evil.

It’s pretty sad when you have to alter an actual quote.

I love the Globe and Mail’s excuse for not publishing the cartoons on their website. “The story is about the killings not the cartoons”.

The quote about the gunman trying to convert her to Islam apparently came from state radio (Radio France International). Vinson (we are told) now denies the gunman tried to convert her when asked by the Grey Lady.

I’ll see what I can uncover in the francophone media by way of resolving this.
