Live-Blogging From The Charlie Hebdo Solidarity Event in Toronto

About 200 people showed, primarily it seemed from the French ex-pat community in Toronto. All in all it was a nice crowd, considering the weather – freezing, and the time of day – rush hour and the very short notice. Lots of media present.

Get there if you are in the Toronto area.

Saw first article on backlash (I did take a break, so I’m sure it’s not the first. Now we just need someone like Tessa Kum to take the whole thing over.

And I guarantee you, not a single Muslim there.

    • Drunk_by_Noon

If any are there, they are there to protest the “backlash”.
      “Is their credibility gone YET?”

      • Oh no, today’s attack had nothing to do with Islam!

        • Drunk_by_Noon

          Thank goodness!
          I was worried.

Global &Co news scripts for the groundlings seem to be “I” and “M” word free which is a great comfort to all of us in these “uncomfortable” times of racist backlash against terrorists who have no other options for protesting unfair white privilege.

          • Oh they were standard PC hogwash all round.

    • I may have seen one lurking on the fringes.

  • Rosenmops

    Wish I could be there.

-18 is a cold day for Toronto. Let’s hope it doesn’t snow since our troops can be better put to use elsewhere 😉

was there any signs in english so the majority of canadians understood what they were saying? like me. not a clue what the signs mean and too annoyed to google it. oh well, it’ll be all forgotten in a couple of days when another atrocity arises to overshadow it.

“I am Charlie”, and “We are all Charlie”.

Good to see this. I wish all of them the best and that the movement grows. I really would like to see large demonstrations outside news outlets and or government that continue with the lie that it had nothing to do with Islam. These traitors need to be publically called out and shamed.
