Aussie terrorist reunion ‘in the land of Khalifa’

Australian jihadists are forming networks in Syria, in a disturbing escalation that poses a security threat back home.

Sydney terrorist Mohamed Elomar, who has been in Syria with his close friend Khaled Sharrouf for a year, posted a photo online on Monday of Melbourne men Mahmoud Abdullatif and Abu Jihad, who left Australia to join Islamic State together four months ago.

The Melbourne pair did not know Elomar and Sharrouf in Australia and the men met up for the first time in Syria.
