Saudi Arabia – Jews Welcome, Israelis Not So Much

Saudi Arabia says open to Jewish workers

The newspaper Al-Watan said that the Saudi labor ministry website that deals with foreign workers permits them to have various religions including: Zoroastrianism, Communism, Judaism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, and no religion.

The article said “the labor authorities in the kingdom have permitted the import of people who practice Judaism for working on its soil” and that it is “a move that emphasizes openness to all monotheistic religions and to people from other cultures,” reported MEMRI.

The labor ministry source said that people of any religion can enter and work in the country as the ministry work application focuses on the worker’s nationality.

“We bar entry [into Saudi Arabia] only to those with Israeli citizenship.

A hundred years after the final war with Islam, when radiation levels on the Arabian peninsula have diminished to a tolerable level, I’m quite sure the Jews will be happy to come to Arabia to reclaim what by rights was Jewish oil in the first place.

Perhaps the Saudi Royal family is in need of the proverbial and legendary Jewish accountants, physicians, dentists, lawyers – that is professionals that the biiiiig family is incapable of producing. Perhaps due to so many first cousins marrying their first cousins.

This refers to the tiny number of tech and financial workers from companies like IBM, HP, UBS, Barclays etc who are handed short-ish assignments in the KSA. The few I know are positively enamored of the ‘opportunity’ to be a Jew in the exotic kingdom. Their kids come back to Hebrew school in a few months kvelling about cool they are and you’re not.
