2014’s Big Winners: Putin and ISIS

It tells you something about the increasing irrelevance of news magazines that I entirely missed the fact that Time had designated “Ebola fighters” as their “Person of the Year”. A feel good choice, but not the one I would have made after a year filled with one calamity after another. For my “Man of the Year” (to use the original form invented by Time founder Henry Luce) I would split the honor between two rogues: Vladimir Putin, self-proclaimed president of Russia, and Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, self-proclaimed caliph of the Islamic State. Both have had a very good year–which for the rest of us means a very bad year.

President Putin didn’t do anything wrong. He only reacted to prevent the Western-sponsored “LGBTQ” moral corruption from invading his country. As for the ISIS
jihadists, well, we all know who has (partly) created it, funded it, armed it and trained it. It was America and the West who after installed similar jihadist groups in Libya and in Egypt unleashed this so-called “ISIS” to depose president Assad and create a religious genocide against Christians and other minorities in Syria. We all know, even Canadian foreign affair’s minister funneled millions of dollars to these same barbaric jihadists in Syria.

    • Yea, we should allow ISIS to spread Islam throughout the ME.

Next, he’ll have to out himself as a ‘Bronie’.

        Cheers

    • Yeah, that’s why he did it.

Arguably, the big winner was the Republican Party, which gained control of Congress after six years of Obama’s malevolent stupidity.

Self-proclaimed? I think he means Putin was duly elected in a free and fair election—and he’s the only leader of a major world power who genuinely enjoys his people’s trust and approval, with no need of cordons saintaires à la belge to emasculate dissent.

May 2015 bring further glory to Russia and to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, bring more nations his like as their rulers—and bring woe to Wall Street and the House of Saud.

      A BIG Amen to that!

Their elections are free and fair, but Canada’s are rigged. OK, got it.
