Christians Now Outnumber Communists in China

Though the Chinese Communist Party is the largest explicitly atheist organization in the world, with 85 million official members, it is now overshadowed by an estimated 100 million Christians in China. It is no wonder Beijing is nervous and authorities are cracking down on Christian groups.

Christianity is growing so fast in China that some predict that it will be the most Christian nation in the world in only another 15 years.

By far, the greatest growth is coming outside the official state-sanctioned churches, which are rightly considered subservient to the Communist Party. Numbers are increasing, rather, in unofficial Protestant “house churches” and in the underground Catholic church…

That is very good news! However here is some really bad news. Pope Francis will be targeting man made climate change in 2015 as a major problem! http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/video/featured/straight-talk-and-hard-news/868018287001/pope-francis-targets-climate-change/3964413615001

    • What a Pope!

Yeah, China is getting more religious, and the Church is getting more socialist. Followers are leading, and leaders are following. What a world, what a world!

but but isn’t the death cult the fastest growing? per msm. But then again leftist like the new math and don’t discount the members of the moon rock blowing up each day.

    • Brett_McS

Yes, I saw one claim recently that there are 2.2 billion of them.

      • Yessir baconFat

I think this week they are up to 3 Billion LOL

Proving once again that cream naturally rises to the top. Now if only the Christians can gain control of the military and the police.

Christianity is the great untold story in China. Here is a picture I took in western China, which is a prominently Muslim region. Yet here is a Christian house church.

I read some time ago that China had established some sort of research institute complete with PhD’s whose purpose was to study what were the factors that allowed Europe and the West in general to be so successful on so many levels for centuries. Anyway, the author, an American who had been a news correspondent in China (whose name escapes me I’m afraid, but perhaps someone here knows who I’m speaking of?) was told that this institute was getting to a general consensus that it was – wait for it – Christianity that had laid the groundwork for the West’s success: militarily, in terms of scientific achievements, and in terms of functioning governments.
If there is at least something to this (and I know many will disagree with the premise) then it is hardly surprising that the West is in clear decline (corresponding to the decline of Christianity here) and China is on the rise (coincidentally, at the same time Christianity is growing by leaps and bounds *there*.)

I remember hearing something like that about the Japanese (and possibly some other Asian countries?) decades ago, but hadn’t heard it about the Chinese. It wouldn’t hurt us in the west to do so as well, which is what I thought at the time I heard it, since even back then the West was beginning the deterioration that remains unchecked today.

I agree – some quiet introspection would do the West a lot of good. Unfortunately, it seems that too many folk are too busy being progressive – gosh, I really detest that word: progressing toward what? – to really plan far ahead or pause and coolly assess where society is headed and where it *ought* to be headed,

    • Norman_In_New_York

I also read that the Chinese much admire the Jewish intellect.

      • Jason

That would make sense – look at the disproportionate (for their population size) numbers of Nobel Prizes Jewish people have won.

If you think about it in general, There is a trend. Whites in Europe became Christian in large numbers between 500 and 1200AD, it them moved to the new world and south America, central America 1400 to 1800, Somewhat to Africa at the same time and continuing today. Starting around 1900 and continuing today it is in Asia. Most cultures progressed towards freedom and prosperity with this Christianization of their populations. Now compare that to islam.

  • When a government starves its people of ideas/items, they will all the more crave them.

  • BillyHW

I’m sure the Christian convert numbers are inflated to keep mission donors donating, but at the same time, I’m sure plenty of those people on the rolls of the Communist Party are doing it just for the privileges of membership.
