For some time, I had been absent because my machine was on the fritz. Then when Staples finally fixed it, I got clobbered by the flu. But now I am back and celebrate my return with an appropriately joyous piece of music, the first movement of Mozart’s Prague Symphony.

Welcome back. That symphony is very nice, I have it on my iPod.

    Beautiful, unspoilt temperate rainforest.

We get enough rain in parts of England (and elsewhere in the UK) to meet the common definition of temperate rainforest and there are woodlands similar to the photo in the Lake District and valleys in SW England.
For those who can access ITV repeats on the internet, Ray Mears had a programme on Borrowdale in the Lake District which include a section on temperate rainforest:

(from about 1 to 5 minutes in once you get past the annoying up-front adverts.)
Episodes 1 to 4 are on YouTube so I would guess that it will turn up shortly.
