Jane Fonda Plans Shrine to Herself

And here was me thinking the old lizard had converted to Christianity or something

“So, while meditating today an idea came to me: I’m going to create a shrine to myself – or, at least, the self I wish to be, the self who began to manifest when I was a young girl before the s–t hit the fan,” [Fonda wrote in a blog post].

The “shrine” will be a small place filled with items that remind Fonda of “the qualities that represent my best self.” So far, she plans to include a school report from the fourth grade.

..She’ll spend the new year collecting objects and symbols that “remind me that I’m brave.”

I actually feel sorry for her. Slightly. God, Henry must have been a crappy father.

And while she’s at it, she can go fuck herself too.

    • David Murrell

Will she include a picture of her verbally attacking captured American POWs, during her tour of North Vietnam? Should improve the look of the shrine.

Hanoi Jane still struggling for relevance? Her best before date was about 50 years ago.

    • moraywatson

Yeah, but Cat Ballou was still a great movie. Am I rite!

      • Drunk_by_Noon

It was OK, but no Barbarella.

        • moraywatson

          I want a Barbarella.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

            Don’t we all?

      • Xavier

Great movie and I loved the wide open spaces.

‘Course, Lee Marvin stole the show.

        • moraywatson

“She had the face of an angel, heart of a devil…” Lots of great singing by Nat King Cole and Earl Scruggs. But yeah, Lee Marvin was comedy gold.

  • moraywatson

A shrine to yourself. Nothing narcissistic about that Jane.

    • Jesus wanted people to build shrines to themselves, right? That is in the Bible, isn’t it?

      • moraywatson

“Though shalt have no gods before Jane”.

      • And Lo the Angel said be a shrine unto thyself in leggings.

        • Drunk_by_Noon

OK, you should win something for that missive!
Black_Mamba, get him something nice; take it out of petty cash. 😉

        Respectfully, no, it is not.
Interestingly enough, when Islam became an issue in the west, I spent several years studying it. Read the Qur’an three times, studied the sirat, the hadith and Islamic international law as posited in Shaybani’s Siyar. That being said, it might behoove you to do some reading about Christianity so that in the future you might avoid saying such ignorant things.

        • It might behoove you not to use stupid pretentious words like “behoove” while perfectly good sarcasm goes sailing over your head, Einstein.

          • Teofilo Cruz

It doesn’t come across as sarcasm.
            It comes across as hostility.

          • To you. Not to anyone else. It’s not my job to dumb down everything I type on the off chance that someone with a tin ear will pop by and get offended.

Here’s a hint, Oppenheimer: look who did the post.

          • Teofilo Cruz

            Eye of the beholder.
In your world, it seems, some faiths, some people are fit targets for abuse and mockery and some are not.

          • By Jove, I think you’ve got it!

          • Teofilo Cruz

            Always had it.
To paraphrase the repellant old hypocrite Voltaire:
“If you would learn who your rulers are simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize”.
All tyrants eventually lodge in their own Ipatiev house.

          • Don’t be daft. Anti-Semitic crap – or “Jew-hating” crap, if you prefer – is all over the net. This just happens to be one of those sites that isn’t sympatico to your world view.

          • Teofilo Cruz

            I beg to differ.
Jew haters are not “all over the net”.
            Judaiolators are.
From the Evangelical / born again types who think Genesis 12:3 is the only truly pertinant part of the Bible, to the talmudic types who have imbibed self worship with their mothers’ milk, to the mossad / shin bet / hasbara / zionist crowd with their “kosher nostra” view of life.
Their influence and control is awe inspiring and mordantly amusing: NBC / CBS / ABC / MSNBC / Time-Life / Fox / the “City of London” / Rothschild / Federal Reserve / AIPAC / Marxism-Bolshevism / “social” Marxism / progressiveism: the list is not quite endless.
The intended result is obviously tyranny.
A tyrannical power of the same type that the Bolshevists wielded over supine and suffering Russia.
It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
Apparently bereft of debating points you have so far called me “stupid”, “pretentious”, “dumb”, possessed of a “tin ear”, “daft”, and compared me to the treasonous turncoat “Oppenheimer” who was a paid NKVD stooge.
Each of your posts has been a veritable ad-hominem fest.
I thank you very much and wish you a nice new year.

    • Clausewitz

I’ll drop by when I have the need to urinate on something.

  • Xavier

According to Jane, Henry was a terrible father.
All I can vouch for is that he was a terrible actor.

And I certainly hope the public has access to her shrine so I can leave “flowers” there and on her grave site.

    • Blacksmith

I would be happy to “water” them.

  • Surele Surele

Excuse me for a moment, while I go upstairs to be sick.

  • Alain

A Hanoi Jane shrine. Enough said.

  • UCSPanther

Maybe when Jane Fonda finally kicks off, veterans can line up and take shots of tobacco juice at her shrine in tribute…
