Documents show the party never stopped at TO2015

TORONTO – On Sept. 30, 2013 – the day after my expose on spending abuses at the Pan Am Games first appeared in this newspaper – a group of Games officials held a soiree at their Corus Quay offices costing $2,388.26.

The purpose of the cocktail reception – according to TO2015 expense documents dumped at Queen’s Park the day after the legislature rose for Christmas break – was to “engage the participation” of the Francophone artistic community in the Games’ arts and culture festival.

On the very same day Premier Kathleen Wynne had been put on the hot seat about expenses revealed in my expose, a group of 60 chomped on pissaladiere, smoked salmon potato rosti, petite tourtieres, foie grass brulee and other hors d’oeuvres prepared by Daniel et Daniel caterers and served by four wait staff.
