At moderate mosques, a struggle with ‘invisible arm’ of Islamic State

After the latest of his sermons denouncing Islamic State, Mohamed Taha Sabri stepped down from an ornate platform at the House of Peace mosque. The 48-year-old chief preacher then moved to greet his congregation, steeling himself for the fallout.

Soon, two young men — they are almost always young, but not always men — were calling him out. Only moments before, Sabri had derided the militants’ tactics, saying “it is not our task to turn women into slaves, to bomb churches, to slaughter people in front of cameras while shouting ‘God is great!’ ”

One young man in a black leather jacket angrily chided him for challenging “Muslim freedom fighters.” His companion in a yellow shirt then chimed in: “What is your problem with the Islamic State? You are on the wrong path!”

“No,” said Sabri, embracing the surprised young men. “My brothers, you are the ones on the wrong path.”

And how many “Moderate” mosques are there I wonder?

How can a mosque teaching the Koran as the immutable word of God be considered moderate when slaughter of the infidel and apostates alike is a core dictum of belief?

No such thing as a moderate muslime. You have the extremist, extremist in training, extremist wannabe, extremist supporter, and scared of the extremist (who are too afraid to leave the religion of hate, rape, and terror but go along with the other muslimes). All of which will hack an infidels head off due to their hate or their fear of their muslime brethren.

Why is the alleged “struggle” for hearts and minds necessary in the first place?

Unwise immigration brought historic enemies into Europe, and now their cultural DNA is expressing itself.

islam is like a mobias strip, moderates on one side extremists on the other.

If you’re the imam of a moderate mosque, your job is to spray perfume over a steaming pile of shit and tell your congregation that it smells good.

The moderates and the radicals are on the SAME PATH! They are just traveling to their totalitarian destination using different modes of transport!
