Eight children have been stabbed to death in Cairns Australia

It is understood that police were familiar with the family.

Murray St is a diverse multicultural area with a mix of both private and public housing in a western suburb of Cairns.

I believe it’s “Islanders”, as they are known locally.

    • Yes a relative is named Thaiday which near as I can tell is Samoan

    • Linda1000

The South Pacific islanders (Polynesians?) are very different tribes than the mainland Aussie aboriginals right? Samoans would be closer to Maori?

I need to get out more often because the photo looks like Hawaii with Palms and Mountains along with low level Stratus clouds . Unless this is near the ocean with imported Palms and ocean moisture to create the clouds.

Cairns is at latitude 16°S. That’s tropical, I believe. Sydney, much farther south is still only at 33°S.

It’s much closer to the equator than Canada.

      • Linda1000

Queensland is the tropical state. The rainforests are beautiful.

    • Frau Katze

Honolulu is actually farther from the equator, at 21°N. I’ve never travelled to these places. Just check a map.

Bananas are said to be grown around the tropics only, except that they also grow in Israel and Ice land . Hawaii is the only US state to product coffee beans . If you drive 2 degrees South from Toronto and than head west about 36 degrees you’ll end in the Northern Nevada town of jackpot.

It’s definitely a picture of Cairns – it has a mountain range on its western side and sits right on the Coral Sea. It’s incredibly humid in summer and the ‘wet season’ – but beautiful, mild and sunny in the dry eason (winter).

If you get to cairns, visit the reef or Green Island. It’s fantastic. Summer is hot, spring is best time.

Fyi, Torres people are indigenous, dark skinned humans native Australians, sometimes Christian.

Taxpayers, including the hostages held at gunpoint by Man Haron Monis, may have to foot the bill for his funeral arrangements if no one comes forward to claim his body.

    • DavidinNorthBurnaby

Suitable arrangements imho would be to toss the worthless jihadi pos’s carcass in the dump for the stray dogs to consume. No need for extra costs, there’s always trucks going that way. 🙂

    • Linda1000

No need for a funeral for the Sydney terrorist. Better idea.

    • Islam Is a Crock

From what l’ve heard on the radio proprietors of Islamic funerals have refused to have anything to do with the burial of this arsehole.

  • UCSPanther

    This is messed up.
