Stockholm syndrome in Sydney

The natural reaction to the hostage taking in Sydney, Australia should be to brush up on the basics of why we’re seeing jihad-style incidents taking place in the West.

But there’s an alarming appetite out there for ignoring the elephant in the room.

Sydney deputy police commissioner Catherine Burn told reporters “we don’t know at this point exactly what [Man Haron Monis’] motivations were.”

Because having hostages hold up a jihadist flag in the windows of the Lindt café wasn’t a dead giveaway?

When the Daily Telegraph in Australia published a front page headline chalking this up to the Islamic State “death cult” people seemed more outraged at the publication than the perpetrator.

I never thought Australians might come the raw prawn with themselves.

    It’s dissapointing but not unexpected.
As long as the west is excessively tolerant and permissive of these invasive foreigners nothing will change.

    • We have a generation trained to despise their own heritage.

      • Ed Ellison

        Maybe more than one generation.

Yes, and that’s a shame because it should be glorified.
This is part of the plan of the left. Distort our own history, make it not cool to celebrate it, while portraying whites as monsters and instead they put forward the accomplishments of the noble brown man that are mostly mythology built upon half-truths and outright lies.
Where do you think a ditz like Tessa Kum gets her rage?

And as part of it here is another affirmative action appointment as police commissioner. Just more of the Frankfurt school of marxism in action.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

            Whom? What police commissioner?

          • Alain

Actually the deputy police commissioner in Sydney Catherine Burn.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

            Oh, OK, thanks.

    • Australia is already an example of the tolerant New World. How many Australians of all racial/ethnic backgrounds can live and work in peace? That one culture chooses not to says everything.

      • Drunk_by_Noon

It is primarily that one culture/religion (Islam), but that permisssiveness also fuels discord with all other non-Australian “cultures” that are also there by giving them permission to denigrate white Australians.

        • Political correctness fuels that. Islamism just doesn’t help.

It’s time to give it the old heave-ho.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

True, but just how do we do that?
I have a feeling that this is not an “engineering” problem.

          • Start with a few deportations, mostly Australian leftists.

When I first saw the Daily Telegraph headlines, I thought maybe the Aussie authorities and media were going to get it right on the terrorist attack until I heard the Sydney police commissioner say they didn’t know the motivation for the attack. These were the Daily Telegraph headlines in their special edition.

      The pics are not showing.

      • Linda1000

Sorry, trying again. I don’t think Disqus works so well on my phone?

        • Drunk_by_Noon

          Yeah, sometimes that happens.
Maybe if you just paste the HTML link?

          • Frau Katze

It takes a while before the pix show up. No idea why.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

I think Disqus was acting up earlier because at at-least one other site with Disqus, their pics were MIA too.

    • Frau Katze

      I can see them fine.

  • ntt1

maybe Sydney is just a down under version of San francisco, choked by smug progressivism and rushing toward cultural suicide.
I really doubt this is the norm in the rest of that country, In my travels I have met many “strines, all very down to earth good people. maybe only the decent types do walkabout and the betas stay at home?

Stockholm syndrome. Denial of reality and Islam is our captor.

  • If Monis held up an American flag, would he be representative of American imperialism and Americans?

    Of course he would.

Go after the easy and politically convenient target.
