Disagree? You’re a hillbilly

Calgary’s Mayor Naheed Nenshi says Albertans who agree with the PC’s Bill 10 risk being labeled “hillbillies”.

  • Clink9

I’ve been called much worse. Is that all ya got Nenshi?

    • He is an irritating little bitch.

      • Linda1000

He has a great smile tho and wears really colorful, kinky socks. I have also been told that he is perceived as being “light in the slippers” by many in his own Ismaili muslim community. There was some significance to his initial “purple campaign” to run for mayor. I don’t even want hear what the other mainstream Sunni muslims or the Shia Twelvers here in Calgary think about him. 🙂 He is not quite so popular these days but still more competent than any of our other elected city councillors.

        • Sean

Perceived by Muslims as being light in the slippers? What evidence is there of that? His voice, his “OMG, look!!!” expression, the fact he’s a 50 year old Muslim still living at home with Mom?

/sarc in case it’s actually needed.

          • Clink9

Don’t hillbillies engage in that activity also? Everything I know about them I learned watching Deliverance! Shudder.

          • Pete_Brewster

Even the straight arselifters are notorious mama’s boys, even the assuredly straight ones. Invariably mama is the only woman your typical arselifter will treat as something other than a drudge or a sex toy.

Jian Ghomeshi’s a good example. Marc Lépine was another.

          • Frau Katze

            That is strange, isn’t it?

          • Linda1000

That’s because muslim boys are always more valued by their mothers and fathers and very spoiled, girls not so much as they will have to be married off or live at home forever in order not to bring shame to the family, generally speaking.

          • Linda1000

I have no idea about the evidence. He, I think lives in his own house unless he moved back hoIme to help his mom after his father died. I actually argued that he was straight when the brown Ismaili informants who told me otherwise brought up the subject. What do I know and I actually don’t really care. I’m not much in favour of these GSA clubs in schools but many parents have gone overboard on the anti-bully campaign. The most terrible cases I’ve heard about in regards to bullying and kids being physically attacked have had nothing to do with being gay or straight but more related to group or gang violence in schools.

        • Frau Katze

You mean he’s gay, but in the closet?

          • Linda1000

I really don’t know if he is in fact gay. I think that if he is, he would be forced to remain “in the closet” being a muslim as there are too many mainstream muslims in Calgary that would likely take his head off if he went public. I do know he has a huge support base from the academic schools and the GLBTQ , etc communities in Calgary. There is a video at the Sun News Network site but the one above doesn’t play for me either.

        • Frau Katze

I can’t see the vid from the iPad.

  • Ron MacDonald

I’d rather be a Hill Billie than a RagHead.

  • Noel

That’s racist! As a born and raised hillbilly! Where is the Alberta Human Rights Commission?. I demand my day in court. I want my legal rights. I want cash. I want an apology. And I want anything anyone ever says on Nenshi’s twitter feed used to sue his ass off forever and ever. Oh, and Nenshi give me back the tax money the Alberta government paid back to the city last year.

  • Blacksmith

Ship his ‘paki-dot’ ass off to some eastern shithole on a one way ticket. The western world doesn’t need him.

  • General P. Malaise

aren’t the progs always telling us not to make ad homein attacks, when that is generally their only argument.

    • Tom Forsythe

Oh yeah? Well you are a dodo-head. Top that reasoning!

  • moraywatson

I’d rather be a hillbilly than a fascist.

  • Tom Forsythe

I was so shocked at being called a hillbilly I almost dropped my fiddle!

interesting statistics, gay sensibilities are given top priority by governments yet no-one ever questions the percentages or does a cost benefit analysis. Progressives have misrepresented and doubled or tripled the percentage of gays in the poputlation and included the mentally ill trannies in a desperate move to inflate numbers, I believe as do most people, the the perscentage is about 3%, of that 3% how many are actually being bullied? I remember way back to my highschool of the unenlightened 60s and the flagrant gays were known but I don’t recall any bullying anymore than the bible thumpers got, it was mostly avoidance.

    • Frances

I heard a survey which said most kids are bullied about their looks. Sex was way down the list. Anyway, I refuse to pidgeonhole teens by their percieved sexual orientation (which, studies have shown, can shift with the hormones) and not by their whole selves. Further, I am concerned that this type of club would push immature teens, still confused about their sexuality, into declaring one way or another before they are really ready. And once into the LGBT (or whatever) net, it’s the brave person who escapes.

      • ntt1

this is part of a continuing drive to highlite and celebrate a tiny minority of students . a tiny minority whose sexual orientation is irrelevant anyway in most cases.
Back in the day we had identical twins who were Jay Dubs and dressed in suits and ties even in grade 8 ,1967, they suffered massive mocking not just due to their looks which were bizzare but because they could not shut up ,blathering on at the least opportunity. They used to crash parties and bore people ridgid.

  • Pete_Brewster

Because white Albertans from Wildrose and Socred country regularly marry their nieces, which nobody would dream of doing where Nenshi comes from.

  • Alain

This pompous twerp is a disgrace to Calgary, but then so are those who elected him.

    • ntt1

A muslim twink for mayor, what a progressive breakthrough this is, a breakthrough for what, I don’t know, but something is broken.
