As Rolling Stone Recants, WashPost Article Insists ‘We Should Automatically Believe Rape Claims’

This is amazing. Even as Rolling Stone’s alleged gang-rape story falls apart, and The Washington Post published several articles on Saturday putting the facts out that collapse the allegations, the Post website still contains an article titled “No matter what Jackie said, we should automatically believe rape claims. Incredulity hurts victims more than it hurts wrongly-accused perps.”

Feminist and MSNBC analyst Zerlina Maxwell doesn’t care about the facts, only about the quote-unquote larger picture of a rape culture. This is the triumph of ideology over evidence, emotion over science. All these people who lectured about McCarthyism and Arthur Miller’s play on the Salem witch trials are chanting that the evidence is less important than the allegation.

Wrongly accused perps? That makes no sense.

    • Drunk_by_Noon

To them it makes absolute sense.
The accusual is evidence itself of guilt.

Wrongly accused perps is MSNBC code for a conservative falsely accused of wrong-doing.

So may of the far left believe that any sex between a man and a women is a form of rape.

    Believe! Believe!
Just like you believe your fabulously brilliant marxist profs over at Dork U. or where ever.
Truth is a lying construct of the oppressive white male racist bourgeoisie to suppress feminist victims of virtual rape!!!.
    Revolt! Revolt!

Yeah too late, you have cried wolf too many times, I doubt the claims now rather than presume they are true. You have already s%&t the bed.

Autumn Pasquale was last seen riding white BMX bicycle on Saturday

Family confirmed the body was hers this morning after frantic two-day search

Mother of two teenaged suspects turned over evidence from one son’s Facebook page, police said

Autopsy revealed she suffered blunt force trauma and was likely strangled

Two teenage brothers were charged with murdering 12-year-old Autumn Pasquale after luring her into their house so they could steal parts from her BMX bicycle, authorities said today.

Autumn, whose body was found stuffed in a household recycling bin late Monday night after she vanished over the weekend, was promised parts for her bike by the two, authorities said, but the teenagers were really plotting to steal parts from her model.

The stunning development in the case came after the boys’ own mother turned them in when she noticed a suspicious posting on one of her son’s Facebook pages, Gloucester County prosecutor Sean Dalton said at a news conference.

The brothers, aged 15 and 17, have been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, disposing of a body, theft, as well as tampering with a body.

On the contrary, if the accused says he never laid a finger on his accuser, he’s the one who needs to be believed, short of overwhelming evidence he is lying.

Ir’s his accuser who needs to be able to provide that overwhelming evidence, namely at least two witnesses willing to testify that he forced herself on her and can confirm her story word for word, under oath, under penalty of perjury and a long prison sentence if they lie to the jury.

Innocence until proven guilty, and all that.

Ghomeshi has 15 accusers, who all say the same thing. The Rotherham gang have 1400, who could not possibly have met to get their story straight. If the frat boys did this to one girl they’ve done it to others. Where are they? Perhaps Rolling Stone should go find them and report back.

Back in the real world, at UVA there had been a rape case where there was no room for doubt it was a fair cop. They found the poor girl’s violated body, and have a suspect. No prizes for guessing what the race of the very-much-real (*ahem* alleged) rapist was.

Naturally if not for the Rolling Stone farce the real rape/murder would never have made the news outside Virginia. Nobody wants to let on who commits most of the real rapes in the US.

    • Four witnesses, Pete. Inshallah the number is four.

You’ve advocated or at least praised the lynching of blacks before. Am I right in thinking that your bar for evidence would not be quite as high if the accuser was white and the perp black?

Feel free not to answer as always.

By rights the blacks should have been packed off to Liberia long since, making moot the issue of the standard of evidence needed to convict one of anything.

Muslims, of course, would not be allowed testify in their own defense. So, yes. If it’s a Christian or Jewish woman’s word (much less 1400) against that of a Muslim man, the arselifter goes to prison.

Not that it would normally come to this. I would have women obliged to carry a pistol at all times and be trained in its use. In court she would be obliged to explain why she didn’t use her gun on her alleged attacker if she felt threatened.

        • What if were a black Christian (whatever your preferred brand of breakaway sect is, I can’t remember) vs. a white Muslim woman, eh?

I’ve got this! We stone her for adultery just to be on the safe side, and then ship him off to Liberia to make room for more straight off the potato-boat paddies who have more right to the country than he does, with his 7 generations of ancestors! Did I win?

I’ve dealt with real rape victims and it’s a terrible crime. On the other hand, it’s terrible to be accused of it by a liar. Innocent until proven guilty must be the standard. It’s very easy to falsely accuse someone of a crime. I don’t know of anyone who does it unless the have an axe to grind or are insane.

The media’s habit of assuming guilt and trying them for it on media platforms helps no one. Anyone who falsely accuses someone should be charged and pay the penalty.

    • BG

I believe innocent until proven guilty is part of our legal system precisely because of that habit, and not just on the part of the media. It seems to be an unfortunate human inclination to assume guilty until proven innocent.

A guy I went to school with was falsely accused, the “victim” recanted her story. In the 2 years between the accusation and the recant; he lost his job, his wife and family left him, he lost his house and he had to leave the town he lived in due to threats. Anybody who knowingly makes a false accusation against anybody else for any crime should receive the maximum penalty for that crime.
