What do dictators like to eat?

Although forced to conclude that evil-doing and delusions of grandeur cannot be attributed to the consumption of any single food or any one physical constitution, hints of patterns did emerge.

As many dictators aged they grew more and more obsessed with the purity of what they ate. North Korea’s Kim Il-sung had all his rice grains individually selected and created an institute whose sole purpose was to devise ways of prolonging his life.

You mean what do they choose as their last meal before the firing squad?

    • I hope so;)

Ceaușescus were advised by their attorney to plead insanity to avoid execution. They both rejected that. They sang the ‘Internationale’ as they were led to the firing squad. That was insane.

They had a speedy trial, almost an hour and a half!
He needed killing, but his trial was nothing more than a kangaroo court. They were killing him. That was decided the day before the trial began.

Mostly on topic, but during the summer of 1979 I and my girlfriend spent five weeks touring Romania (she traded in Eastern European “folk” blouses at the time). But 1979, I had changed into being something of a conservative; took along anti-communist books to hand out to dissidents, and so forth (Romanian guards spoke no English, so that was fairly easy to do). Food shortages were begining to hit about that time; the bureaucratic dealings were insufferable, but generally we enjoyed ourselves.

Anyways, to make a long story short, in Romania virtually every billboard, every public place, and every hotel room had a smiling picture, of some sort, of President Nicolae Ceausescu, sometimes with his wife. And despite my anti-Communist leanings, after four weeks of looking at Ceausescu’s face, I started to like the guy. This is what unremitting propaganda will to to someone’s head — day after day of seeing the guy affects a person’s mind.

Having said that, I am glad the Romanians shot the guy.

What do dictators eat? Idi Amn of Uganda and Emperor Jean-Bédel Bokassa of Central African Republic/Empire were both accused of cannibalism.

Nicolae and Elena had, what must have been absolutely georgeous….a golden shitter, the toilet seat alone cost $6 million….what goes in, must come out…

  • Of course all the dictators indulge in gluttony and greed. Those two vices are qualities one needs to be a dictator.

Then there are crap jokes which maybe one cannot tell here.
