Abortion is a ‘legal right’: Alleged Catholic chaplain running for Trudeau’s Liberals

Amidst calls for her termination, the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board is standing behind a Catholic chaplain who is running for the pro-abortion Liberal Party of Canada in the next federal election and who says she opposes legal protections for the unborn.

Filomena Tassi is a salaried “chaplaincy leader” at Bishop Tonnos High School in Ancaster, just west of Hamilton, who has just won the Liberal nomination for the riding of Hamilton West-Ancaster-Dundas.

Tassi says she opposes the “criminalization” of abortion but claims to be pro-life. She says there’s no conflict between her “pro-life” views and her party’s requirement that she support abortion in the House of Commons. Pat Daly, the chairman of her school board, agrees with her.

“The question is what exactly, what is the interpretation of what is being said. What does pro-choice mean.” No, the real question is how can such a ridiculous pile of meaningless mush be allowed to exit a supposedly thinking being’s mouth.

One thing’s for sure, she fits right in with the Liberal Party: it was almost impossible to understand what, if anything, she believed or stood for on the abortion issue.

Isn’t that the great thing about the Liberal (vote whores)…I mean…Liberal Party.

    • Yes a natural.

It is another example of the neo-marxists hijacking the language. It isn’t “pro-choice”, it is pro-killing or at least pro-abortion. It was never about choice in the real sense. Also frankly a female Catholic chaplain said everything I needed to know.

Why doesn’t she become a united church minister and run for office. They believe in killing babies on demand and you don’t even have to be a Christian since they have a minister who is an atheist.

    • She is ideologically sound for the position.

A former practicing lawyer along with hubs and now apparently much involved in the lefty education game.
Sounds like she checks all Shiny Pony’s “must have” boxes.

Then she’d have to run for the NDP, not Canada’s natural governing party.

Some Roman Catholics are actually ‘independent’ Catholics. Words mean whatever they want them to mean, no more, no less. Truth is passé. It’s more important what you feel in your gut than what you read in a book. Books and facts are elitist.

      Welcome to Churchianity, 2014.

If Pontius Pilate had founded a church then this is what it would have stood for.

She is not a Catholic, just in name only and for the purpose of gaining employment. She will fit right in with the rest of the Grubers that fill the Liberal ranks.
What this country needs is a Voters Bill of Pledges. Candidates running for office, have to put in writing what they will do while in office. It is in their best interest to list everything, because what is not in the pledge, they cannot vote on or support, unless put to a referendum to their constituents. We need protection from the Grubers. Career politicians stopped working for the people long ago.

All candidates need to have a thorough lie detector pre election screening with the scored results pasted on their foreheads for the duration of a campaign. Something similar to what the city health depts do re the cleanliness standards for all types of food sellers. Since many sociopaths are supposed to easily pass such scrutiny, it would be helpful to those concerned voters who wanted to vote for a normal run of the mill liar and avoid voting for a “saint” who could actually be a monster in disguise.

If we asked politicians to put in writing what they will do once they got into office or to articulate the moral principles that guide them, you’d get a blank piece of paper in return.
And as for this opportunist, she doesn’t need to; her actions speak louder than words. She would deny Jesus Christ Himself for political office. At least St Peter repented she will not. Like her leader, she is morally and ethically bankrupt.

I’ve said for years that politicians should wear jackets like the NASCAR drivers wear so that we know which special interest groups they are working for. At least that way we know which politicians to vote against. This goes for the big 3 parties. That would certainly change and improve politics in this country.

No one would be able to understand the patches on the shiny pony as all of them would be in Arabic, and Islamist in nature.

Legal right for whom? It amazes me, that it is a baby if you want it, but a fetus when yo don’t.

  • Exile1981

I’m seeing more of these far left progressive “Catholics” claiming they are doing gods work all the while they push for the murder of babies.

The truth is no party in Canada will change the abortion laws other than the Christian Heritage party. Even Harper instructs his party to never vote to get rid of abortion. Even gay marriage is off the table now. Right now, I believe that all the parties are the same when it comes to social conservative issues. The difference is that Harper’s party is the most vocal and can have the discussions in the party which I feel are healthy but they will never get rid of abortion in this country. I am not supportive of this individual in question because usually when politicians call themselves Catholic they do so in order to get a whole host of followers to join the party and steer the party in a certain direction. Some even suggest that saying God Bless Canada will somehow bless the nation. This notion shows that you need blessing in order to be able to govern the nation which means you cannot run on your strengths alone? Nowadays ideology is also belief since parties will do the same things over and over again expecting a different result when the only thing you need to have in office is a moral compass and that does not mean faith. I am for people believing as an atheist but I want people that know what they are doing in office and not incompetents. Although, most politicians stay for the money rather than knowing anything about governing a nation.

    • Clausewitz

There are no abortion laws in Canada, and that right there is the problem.

  • Sean

In case you’ve ever wondered why men are running away from the church as an institution but yet remaining (and even increasing) in their faith, now you see why. The Church has become a vehicle for pandering and refuses to even believe the Bible anymore. It’s cherry picking Churchianity.

  • If pro-life Liberals were ever pro-life, they would cross the floor. As they adhere to the party no matter what, one can see their true allegiance is to the party and not to principles.
