Former U.S. National Security Advisor wonders why British royals refuse to visit Israel

A senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), in an article published Thursday, asked why Britain’s Royal Family refuses to visit Israel when they make frequent stops throughout the Arab world.

“In just the month of November 2014 we found Prince Andrew and Prince Harry at what the Foreign Office must have considered a diplomatic necessity: the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix,” wrote Elliott Abrams, who worked in both the administrations of George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan. “Prince Andrew also visited Saudi Arabia (at the request of the Foreign Office, it was announced). And Prince Harry also visited Oman”…

According to Abrams, there are only three “logical explanations” for the gross omission…

…Abrams’ final suggestion is that the Royal Family won’t visit Israel because either they or the Foreign Office “harbor deep and undying enmity toward the Jewish state”…

Those CFR folks are pretty sharp, eh?

Could not tell him from prince Abdullah.

Qatar is one of the world’s richest countries and has invested heavily
in British firms and property. Amongst its investments are London’s
tallest building, the Shard, which was funded by the Qatari royal
family, and the upmarket Harrods department store which is owned by
sovereign wealth fund Qatar Investment Authority.

    • Frau Katze

But the Qataris wouldn’t pull investment based a trip by a Royal to Israel. The UK is a good place to invest in —rule of law, etc.

    • Reborn

      Not so much “invested”.
Rather using our cash, which we paid for oil that just happened to be under their tents, to buy up swathes of our capital and corrupt our politicians.

  • Minicapt

This would also explain why President Obambi always selects ‘friends of Israel’ as his envoys to Israel.

The Interior Ministry on Sunday said it had seized over four million
pills of amphetamines, four tons of hashish and around three kilos of
raw heroin during a recent operation, which was the result of the
campaigns and raids against drug dealers and smugglers carried out
during the past two months of the Hijri year 1435.

I must remember to check Saudi News. I used to get the stuff from al-Arabiya (Google alert) but over Hajj they shut down and then started loading old stuff. WTF? So I killed that alert. Maybe I should put one on the Saudi site.

Egyptian doctors top the list of hospital staff committing medical
errors, with almost 50 percent of them being held accountable for nearly
half of such incidents that occurred in Kingdom.
    Out of the 512
erring doctors in the country, 219 were Egyptian, which makes 42.8% of
total cases, according to a report from the Ministry of Health.
report also mentioned that Saudi doctors were placed second with 70
doctors out of the 512, making it 13.7 percent. Syrian doctors (59) were
placed third with 11.5 percent, followed by Indian doctors with 41
physicians that translates into 8 percent of the medical errors.

    • Frau Katze

The education systems there are corrupt. They don’t go by aptitude but how well-connected one is. If you go to a foreign doctor, check where he got his degree. If it was not in the West, I’d skip him…

    • Norman_In_New_York

No wonder a few of these patients with enough dinars sneak into Israel for quality medical care.

    • Reborn

      Don’t forget Dr Arian.
Expert in his field & sacked when it emerged that he was not a Muslim but a Coptic Christian.
Muslims controlled the hospital, which was not in Egypt, but an NHS hospital in Lincolnshire !

    • KyraNelson

We should send our Trannies there for surgery. I hear the Egyptian “doctors” like to make over little girls in all kinds of creative ways.

  • Alain

The final suggestion rings true, especially in a historical perspective. It was the same for the majority of the English upper class many of whom were pro-Nazi.

    • Kit Ingoldby

If you think that ‘rings true’ then you have a tin ear.

      • Alain

Please provide some examples that prove otherwise, since I have found none.

        • How can you prove a negative? Edward VIII and Unity Mitford aside, the British upper classes weren’t comprised mostly of “Pro-Nazis”. If they had been the war probably would have gone differently.

        • Kit Ingoldby

You are the one making the absurd claim. You are the one under the obligation to find the supporting examples.

  • DD_Austin

    three “logical explanations”

    no, there is just one
the servant is the one who takes the money
and the “royals” definitely take the UK governments money
What they do or do not do isn’t their agenda
    It’s their paymasters whim

    • Frances

You are probably right: the royals go – generally speaking – where the government of the day wants the cachet of their presence. Truly bizarre things could and did happen – just google the Queen and Morocco and 1980. As well, Her Majesty gets to ‘host’ many world leaders, a fair few of whom have been very ‘heavy weather’ as far as being able to accommodate demands, etc.

  • ntt1

Wahabists own his sorry ass that’s why.

  • Clausewitz

As to the posed question, I would say inbreeding. Must be why Charles is attracted to the Muzzies.

  • imnokuffar

It is becoming more and more obvious that Charles and the rest of the Royal family are a bunch of anti-Semites.

  • Hard Little Machine

Because……they hate Jews and hate Israel and that’s pretty much been official UK policy for the last thousand years?

  • Reborn

To the best of my knowledge no senior royal has ever set foot in Israel.
This is deplorable and essentially anti semitic.
They have no problem toadying up the the Saudis and similar terrorist states.

  • KyraNelson

Israel doesn’t want or need those pandering pansies. Let them go to the Days Inn at Ferguson.
