“Hey, hey, stop, stop,” yelled several police officers near the memorial where the soldier was fatally shot Wednesday morning.
At the entrance to the outdoor Sparks Street Mall, police converged on the man. It’s not yet clear why he was arrested.
Harper didn’t appear to notice the commotion. Nor did Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau, who was also at the memorial.
Police held the man behind a truck until Harper got into his car and left the area for Parliament Hill, then placed him into the back of a police car and drove away.
