A group, some wearing masks and waving the Australian flag, confronted a peaceful anti-Islamophobia rally in Perth on Saturday.
The group of about 20 people targeted controversial Perth Muslim preacher Junaid Thorne.
The group chanted “Junaid Thorne, terrorist scum”, “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie” and “this is Australia for Australians”, the Perth Now news site reported.
Self-declared Sheik, Mr Thorne said the group who descended on the peaceful rally were “uneducated bogans”.
The 25-year-old who has grabbed attention for his lectures, said he was at the rally to show support for a “united community”, Perth Now reported.
