Jason Kenney, the federal jobs minister, is reining in the Temporary Foreign Workers (TFW) program.
New rules will cap the number of foreign workers at 10% in any company, and TFW’s will only be allowed in regions with unemployment under 6%. At a conference last week, Kenney called the program a “labour market distortion.”
Which of course it is. It’s Canada’s answer to illegal Mexican immigration in the U.S.
