Canada: The United Church wonders about its ‘brand’

The gay-friendly theme is pushed relentlessly – even though I do not particularly dislike gays per se, the emphasis is so strong it is overwhelming.

…The Observer’s* 2014 survey looked into what kind of “brand reputation” the United Church has beyond its own walls.

The results suggest that most English Canadians have only a vague sense of the denomination.

With all the new immigrants from everywhere on earth — loads of Muslims, I am sure many could not care less about any church at all, never mind getting into specific denominations.  The average Muslim has zero interest in anything but Islam.

As for those of Christian background, the United Church does not seem to realize that most “socially liberal, justice-seekers” are agnostics or atheists.
