Has New York City surrendered? Mystery as white flags replace Old Glory atop the Brooklyn Bridge


Someone has run up the white flag on one of New York City’s most famous landmarks.

Commuters on Tuesday morning were greeted with a pair of billowing white banners atop the Brooklyn Bridge – replacing Old Glory that normally flies above the famous span.

One of the flags, viewed via video, appeared to have faint traces of stars and stripes on it.

No on knows who took down the American flags on the two bridge supports at the East River. But New York authorities are calling it a serious security breach…
