A casting call notice for the upcoming N.W.A biopic, which favoured lighter skinned hopefuls, has caused widespread outrage online.
The highly-anticipated notice for Straight Outtta Compton, which will tell the story of how a group of young rappers revolutionised music and pop culture, categorised female extras by the skin tone.
Sande Alessi Casting Company separated women into four categories – A, B, C and D – each with specific, and very offensive guidelines.
From the “hottest of the hottest” girls with “great bodies,” to the “fine” girls who …should be light-skinned,” right down to the girls who are “poor and not in good shape” with “medium to dark skin tone.”
The casting call, which has since been deleted, was branded shadiest and sexist.
One angered Facebook user said: “You must be out of your mind putting a Casting Call As like the one in this link. Racist much??
“It seems the current Hip Hop Industry has done more to destroy blacks than the KKK ever could”…
