There’s always euthanasia: Terrorism experts worry for Khadr’s rehab at provincial jail

OTTAWA — Terrorism experts say moving convicted terrorist Omar Khadr from a federal prison to a provincial jail could seriously hamper efforts to de-radicalize him.

The Alberta Court of Appeal ruled earlier this month Khadr should be transferred to a provincial jail, saying he should have been tried as a minor.

But the warden at the federal facility where Khadr currently resides filed an affidavit in which he expressed deep concern over the lack of rehabilitation programs at the provincial level.
