American Muslim teen shot during iftar meal in Detroit

Rifle caliber rounds went through the window of a nearby bakery and pierced the victim’s shoulder.

A 15-year-old Muslim boy is recovering in hospital after being shot in a drive-by shooting in the US city of Detroit on Friday.

The boy was sitting outside a mosque eating pizza with his friends as they enjoyed an iftar fast breaking meal when two unkown assailant rode by on their bikes and opened fire.

Neighbors told Fox 2 the boy had come from the US state of Indiana and he was visiting Detroit with other teenagers to celebrate Ramadan.

The police are yet to catch or identify the shooters, but have commenced an investigation. Although the motive is not yet known, police are not ruling out the possibility of a hate crime…
