Refugee ruling bites taxpayers

The greatest policy work we’ve seen from the Conservatives since Stephen Harper was elected is their various measures to strengthen Canadian citizenship.

So it was more good news when they introduced cuts to the Interim Federal Health Program in 2012.

They retained basic healthcare for newcomers to Canada but took away bonuses like eye and dental care.

Seeing as regular Canadians don’t receive this from government to begin with, it’s a little galling these freebies were even in place to begin with.
