Whose media is it anyway?

I’ve been challenged lately by journalist acquaintances. They want to understand why I appear to be defending Toronto mayor, Rob Ford. (For those of you don’t know, he is currently in rehab for drug and alcohol addiction.) The answer to that question is simple: many of Canada’s journalists are no longer reporting news but are trying to create it instead. The circus around Ford makes this obvious, which is why I’m writing about it.
