Ottawa: Man in custody; daughter’s finger cut off, police say – Violence Honour Based

OTTAWA — An Ottawa man is in custody after two females were allegedly attacked with a knife in a rural west-end home Saturday night.

One of the alleged victims was the man’s daughter, police said, and one of her fingers was allegedly cut off.

Police believe the acts of violence may have been honour-based.

Both the daughter and the man’s wife, the other alleged victim who also has serious wounds, are now in hospital.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
