Morocco suing French Christian anti-torture group

PARIS (AP) — A French anti-torture organization being sued by the Moroccan government said Wednesday the action was an attempt by the North African kingdom to discourage future lawsuits against those responsible for torture.

Morocco’s Interior Ministry announced Tuesday night it was suing the Action by Christians Against Torture group, after a lawsuit by the group nearly resulted in the arrest in February of the country’s intelligence chief while he was visiting Paris.
