UK: Arrangements made for Sheffield murder trial

Reema Ramzan

A man accused of murdering his girlfriend by severing her head had his case mentioned at court yesterday.

Final arrangements were made for his trial, which is due to be held at Sheffield Crown Court next Monday, March 24.

Aras Hussein, aged 20, of Herries Road, Shirecliffe, is accused of murdering his 18-year-old girlfriend Reema Ramzan.

Emergency services were called to Hussein’s flat in June last year and found Ms Ramzan’s body.

Hussein is also accused of attacking staff at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.

Ms Ramzan, from Darnall, was an A grade student at Sheffield College, where teachers described her as ‘the sparkle in the class’.

She was completing a health and social care course.
