Egypt’s FGM prevalence in women of reproductive age (15-49 years) is astonishingly high, 91%, joining the worst club made of six countries, Somalia 98% (Muslim 85%), Guinea 96% (Muslim 85%), Djibouti 93% (Muslim 94%), Eritrea 89% (Muslim 48%), Mali 89% (Muslim 94.8%), Sierra Leone 88% (Muslim 60%), and Sudan 88% (Muslim 97%).
