Anti-terror police swoop on British woman with ‘large quantity of cash’ at Heathrow airport

Two British women were dramatically arrested today on terrorism offences.
The pair, aged 26 and 27, were held by counter-terrorism cops acting on a specific tip-off.

They seized the younger woman at Heathrow Airport this morning just before she prepared to board a flight to Turkey.

She was carrying what was described as “a large quantity of cash.”

They swooped minutes before she was about to get on the British Airways BA676 flight for the 3hour 55 minute flight to Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport.

And the second was arrested yesterday afternoon after armed officers surrounded an address in North West London.

Neither of the women – who are both British citizens – were named by police who said their inquiries were still at an “early stage.”
But they confirmed they were “acting upon intelligence” when they made their move.
