Swiss couple found dead at Egyptian resort of Hurghada

A couple of Swiss tourists have fallen victim to an apparent robbery in the resort of Hurghada, Egypt. Their bodies were found buried in the garden. A 25-year-old guard is the chief suspect.

After being alerted that they were missing, police had searched for days.

According to the Egyptian newspaper Al-Dustur, the couple had lived for years in the seaside resort on the Red Sea. The police investigation thus focused on the security guard of the residential complex. He has finally admitted to having killed and then buried the couple in the garden of their house the couple along with two accomplices.

In the house of a suspected accomplice police found items stolen from the home of the slain, including a laptop, a coffee machine, a vacuum cleaner and a refrigerator. (German)
