A single complaint by a single parent threatening a Human Rights Inquisition has a cross removed from NFLD School

What became a controversial cross on the front of St. Matthew’s Elementary in Cowan Heights has now been removed from the outside of the building. A parent complained to the Eastern School District in May to have it taken down, threatening to take the issue to the Human Rights Commission if the cross wasn’t removed.

At the time the Eastern School District says it would handle issues surrounding displays of religious symbols on a case-by-case basis, but said no effort was being taken to have all crosses removed from all schools.
