Community policing in the Netherlands

“The Hague – The arrest of an identified suspect in the Kritzingerstraat ran pretty out of hand. Police urged to a property in that street, where the person was identified. The 28-year-old man had to serve a prison sentence of 46 days. He was obviously not really in the mood for that and tried to flee, when several police officers entered the house.

Bystanders or relatives/acquaintances of the man interfered with the arrest and the work of the police. This created a scuffle in front of the house. Eventually, four people were arrested: two brothers of the suspect (18 and 30) and two bystanders (a woman of 26 and a man of 35 years).”
